Professor Thomas McDade will be responsible for overseeing the analysis of dried blood spot (DBS) samples, including management of project personnel in the lab, implementing procedures for quality analysis/quality control, delivering final results to the study team, and collaborating on data analysis and manuscript preparation. A total of N=882 samples will be analyzed for C-reactive protein and IL6 in the Laboratory for Human Biology Research, under McDade’s direction. Samples will then be sent to the Wener lab at the University of Washington for the analysis of HbA1c and total cholesterol. McDade will oversee processing and shipping of samples, as well as delivery of lab results to the study team.
