Project Details


1. EMS-hospital data merging and algorithm development: We will continue to develop the schema from the prior proof of concept simple matching to more sophisticated matching including weighted and substring matching as well as cloud based framework to improve user accessibility, create automation, and increase overall flexibility of the system.
2. Analysis of accuracy of EMS impression compared to final diagnosis: We will analyze the available EMS and hospital de-identified Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) data from July-December 2013 to estimate true and false positive rates for stroke assessment in the field.
3. GIS mapping of the data available through the EMS-hospital system: We will create geospatial hotspots for suspected stroke with extensions of the project into travel times to the receiving primary stroke center. We will explore the time needed for data queries as it relates to scene and transport times in the field.
