Description
Our main hypothesis is that deep sequencing of both DNA and RNA in bronchoalveolar lavage will allow an accurate determination of the alveolar microbiome in patients with severe CAP. We will leverage the routine practice of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) for all intubated patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia to address three specific aims.
