Project Details
Description
The Community Action Project of Tulsa County, or CAP Tulsa, is Oklahoma’s largest antipoverty agency. CAP Tulsa uses an integrated service delivery model, providing early childhood education programming, financial advising, links to social services, and other supports to promote healthy child development and expand the opportunities available to low‐income parents and families. CAP Tulsa’s CareerAdvance® program applies a two‐generation approach to family service provision by aligning children’s and parents’ educations. The CAP Family Advancement Study (CAP FAST) is a randomized controlled trial examining CareerAdvance®’s impacts on participants and their families. The research team supplements an effectiveness study with an implementation study that examines CAP Tulsa’s application of the two‐generation model. Implementation study data allow the researchers to understand the channels by which program components influence participant success and permit assessment of the program’s replicability and scalability.
