Project Details
Description
Dr. Miller will interact directly with Dr. Pandarinath in the dissemination and use of archived data, the collection of new data and the design of any necessary behavioral paradigms to generate new data. Miller has worked with primates in this type of research for over 30 years. He has managed a multi-institution biomedical research partnership project to develop a bi-directional brain machine interface that has been funded for over ten years, as well as a separate 12-year effort (with recently renewed funding) to develop a BMI that restores grasp function to monkeys by electrically stimulating forearm muscles during temporary paralysis caused by peripheral nerve block.
