Project Details
Description
The role of the Paller clinical research group will be to gather the demographics, history/ family history/triggering factors, examination details, and genetic samples from 30 children with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis requiring systemic intervention and their unaffected parents. The DNA from these children/parents will be extracted and run initially for CARD14 mutations. DNA from those children and parents without any evidence of CARD14 mutations will then be subjected to exome sequencing to seek other pathogenic mutations leading to pediatric psoriasis. We will have joint meetings with the Bowcock lab at least monthly or more often if needed; we will also have joint meetings of the Bowcock/Seyger groups to review the comparative studies of clinical data with findings.
