Adding the GUP evaluation sample to GSPS will enable long-term analysis of the GUP program seven years after its onset and five years after its conclusion at a fraction of the costs that fielding a separate survey would have entailed, while also promoting economies of scope in research by providing a platform for the evaluation of new interventions. We thus expect this endeavor to facilitate the accumulation of evidence on livelihood and social protection in Ghana through the use of a unifying instrument—GSPS.
