Project Details
Description
The educational purpose for the training program is to provide fellows with an organized, comprehensive, supervised, full-time educational experience in the field of spinal neurological surgery. A minimum of six months of fellowship training will be spent in a clinical spinal neurological surgery experience under the program director Dr. Tyler Koski. This will include comprehensive care of patients, diagnostic modalities, the performance of surgical procedures, and the integration of non-operative and surgical therapies into clinical patient management. The fellowship will provide a broad exposure to clinical evaluation and appropriate patient selection for operative and non-operative management in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The fellow will actively participate in the operative management of a wide range of spinal disorders including traumatic, degenerative, neoplastic and congenital conditions. Progressive responsibility in patient management will be provided. A broad exposure to modern spinal instrumentation techniques is considered an integral part of the spinal neurosurgery fellowship experience and training.
