Description
During Aims 1 and 2, Dr. Linder, the subcontract-PI, and Dr. Persell, will work with the overall study investigators to conduct the three specific aims of this study: 1) develop simple, efficient approaches for the collection of clinical pain data and for assessing, preventing, and managing pain in later life in the electronic health record; 2) assessing the comparative effectiveness of PainTracker in a randomized controlled trial; and 3) characterizing problems associated with long-term opioid use among older adults. Together with the Analyst, Ji Young Li, Dr. Linder and Dr. Persell will work with the study PI and Co-Investigators on all aspects of the proposal. Dr. Linder and Dr. Persell will ensure the Analyst is able to extract necessary data from the electronic health record for analytic purposes. Throughout the project, Dr. Linder and the others will work with the overall project team to disseminate the results of such development, implementation, and evaluation.
