HCMR - Novel Predictors of Outcome in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This is a study about understanding what factors predict poor outcomes (specifically, sudden death due to a fast heart rhythm or heart failure) in patients with a genetic form of abnormal heart muscle thickening called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This thickened heart muscle can make the heart stiff and makes fluid back up in the lungs, and may also affect the heart's electrical system.
