Using new materials chemistry coupled with predictive computational modeling capabilities developed at Northwestern University, the University of Minnesota, and the U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, we propose to design, engineer, and construct highly porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) that exhibit unprecedented chemical stability and outstanding potential for bio-inspired degradation/inactivation catalysis (hydrolysis/ oxidation) of both agents and agent simulants (Figure 1).
