Project Details

Description

Hubly is a medical device company that intends to develop medical devices focused on the bedside neurosurgery market. Hubly’s first product, the Ventri Drill, is a patent-pending, integrated electric drill system for use in ventriculostomies that streamlines bedside intracranial access, decreases operating room reliance, and facilitates treatment of emerging indications. The ventriculostomy is the most common neurosurgical procedure performed in the world, and yet, it has one of the highest rates of failure of any surgical treatment. The Ventri Drill utilizes three key differentiating features to the current standard of care to reduce surgery-related complications and operating room dependence. By including a guidance “hub,” consolidating multiple commonly used neurosurgical tools, and integrating plunge protection technology, the Ventri Drill improves procedure accuracy, streamlines surgical workflow, and decreases fatality risk associated with common neurosurgical procedures.
