Hydrocortisone Effects of Pulmonary Vasculature in a Murine Model of BPD Associated Pulmonary Hyptertension

Description

Funding is from presentation award given at the Neonatal Cardiopulmonary Biology Young Investigator's Forum. Abstract: We have previously reported that the mouse model of BPD is associated with pulmonary vascular remodeling and aberrant phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) signaling. Clinical studies in human neonates have suggested that hydrocortisone may decrease the risk of BPD. However, little is known about the effects of hydrocortisone on the pulmonary vasculature and on PDE5 in BPD. We sought to determine the effects of hydrocortisone on pulmonary vascular remodeling and PDE5 in a neonatal mouse model of BPD.
