Immunobiology of Transfusion

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The goal of this project is to determine how Toll-like receptors (TLRs) regulate red blood cell (RBC) alloimmunization. The aims of this project are: Aim 1. Determine the mechanism by which MyD88 regulates adaptive immunity to allogeneic RBCs. Aim 2. Identify which Toll-like receptor(s) drive T cell-dependent RBC alloimmunization. This project will be completed at Yale and will be overseen by Dr. Eisenbarth remotely from Northwestern. Therefore, only the monies covering her effort are transferring to Northwestern.
