Project Details
Description
Northwestern University will participate as part of the HHMI IE3 Learning Community Cluster 6 (LCC6) to investigate the following question “What would it take to empower institutions to develop systems that investigate, support, evaluate, and reward teaching and learning that centers diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and access (DEIJA)?” To answer this question, LCC6 is proposing three projects: P1) Evaluation of Diverse, Equitable, Inclusive, Just, and Accessible (DEIJA) Teaching and Learning; P2) Data-Informed Improvement of DEIJA Outcomes; and P3) Professional Development Programs for DEIJA Teaching and Learning. Each project addresses one specific system of interest but all three projects do so through developing iterative, evolvable cycles of learning. Thus, the focus of institutions within the LCC6 is on engaging together in a cycle, rather than on the product of the projects. Given this focus on process, a general cycle common across all projects was developed.
