Integrative Pathways to Health and Illness

This application is a competing continuation of the MIDUS (Midlife in the U.S.) national study, launched in 1995/96 with 7,108 Americans (aged 25-74) to investigate the Influence of sociodemographic, psychosocial, and behavioral factors on health and well-being from early adulthood to later life. Dan Mroczek has been part of this project from 1994. The prior P01, known as MIDUS II (2002-2008) obtained longitudinal assessments 9-10 years later in all baseline domains and added new content (cognitive assessments, biomarkers, neuroscience assessments) to the study. A renewal in 2011 obtained a 3rd wave of the psychosocial, but not biological, data. The project is now moving toward a U19 mechanism, with Dan Mroczek as one of 4 co-leaders of the Statistics Core. As co-leader, he will assist project leaders with data analysis, especially involving longitudinal assessments. He will also conduct workshops on longitudinal data analysis. Finally, he will conduct analyses of his own and prepare written manuscripts. The RA assigned to him in year 5 will also assist with longitudinal data analysis and help with manuscript preparation.
