Description
Margaret Baker will conduct experiments involving alveolar epithelial type 2 cell signal transduction as it relates to acute lung injury. Additionally, Margaret will isolate fibroblasts and macrophages from genetically modified mice. Margaret Baker will be performing new experimental studies related to Dr. Ridge’s VA Merit Review funded research grant, “Alveolar epithelial type 1 cells: role and regulation of Na,K-ATPase.". Her work will provide a better understanding of how the lung can resolve pulmonary edema in patients with acute lung injury.
