Internet-based Yoga Classes for Young Adult Cancer Survivors

Project: Research project

Description

Research findings suggest that cancer-adapted yoga delivered online in a live, group format has the potential to reach post-treatment YACS and to ameliorate some of their most prevalent cancer-related psychosocial and physical symptoms. Therefore, we propose a pilot trial of cancer-adapted yoga classes delivered via multipoint internet-based videoconferencing to post-treatment YACS.
Aim 1: To evaluate feasibility and acceptability of the intervention. We hypothesize that at least 50% of YACS who are determined to be eligible will consent to participate and that at least 75% of participants will remain in the study through the final assessment.
Aim 2: To examine preliminary efficacy for improving psychosocial and physical wellbeing. We hypothesize that participants will demonstrate improvements in anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep, and positive wellbeing.
