Interplay of Myocardial Fibrosis and Cardiac TTR Amyloidosis in Age-Related Cardiac Remodeling in MESA

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This is the scope of work (SOW) for the Field Center MRI acquisition for the MESA imaging ancillary study proposal. This is a four-year projects which aims to collect MRI data to evaluate cardiovascular disease. The MESA Amyloid project aims to elucidate the link between myocardial fibrosis and amyloidosis and their influence as modulators of age related cardiovascular remodeling. The role of the MESA NWU Field center is to recruit 135 participants who had MRI contrast enhanced study as part of the Mesa 5 Examination which took place between 2010 and 2012 and both repeat the cardiac MRI exam and perform a Planar and technetium 99m pyrophosphate SPECT study designed to assess the presence of amyloid deposition.
