Description

We will measure residual drug and degradants in rings removed after Day 14 (n=15 drug) and we will measure physical properties of rings after 14 days use. The IVR weld will be subjected to elongation testing until failure. A sample of the polymer will be dried and its molecular weight distribution will be measured by SEC-MALS. Physical changes in the polymer crystallinity and glass transition and melting temperature of the polyurethane will be measured using differential scanning calorimetry. The polymer will also be chemically characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Five placebo and five TDF IVRs will be analyzed by electron microscopy for biofilms.
