IPA for Practical approaches to population-wide real-time EHR registries for Parkinson's disease

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The work to be performed will apply data science (DS), machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) to advance the practice of electronic case reporting (eCR) for Parkinson’s disease (PD), thereby serving 2 important public health purposes: (1) expanding the kinds of tools available for automatically identifying potential cases of a disease for eCR and (2) improving methods for automatically detecting PD and related neurodegenerative parkinsonism conditions from electronic health records (EHR) with the highest accuracy possible. Applications of ML/AI, eCR, and uses of EHR, particularly when tested across institutions, will support CDC’s data modernization efforts.
