Description
The biennial North American Catalysis Society (NACS) meeting, commonly known as the North American Catalysis Society Meeting (NAM), is the premier conference in the area of catalysis, surface science and catalytic reaction engineering in the United States. The 26th NAM with be held during the week of June 23-28, 2019 in Chicago, IL, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This meeting celebrates the 50 years of NAM from 1969 to today. The goal of 26NAM is to bring together the maximum number of academic (including students and postdoctoral researchers), industrial and governmental laboratory personnel working in the areas of catalysis, surface science, and catalytic reaction engineering for an intensive and interactive scientific exchange and discussions concerning scientific and technological issues in the field of catalysis. The objective of the meeting is to maximize positive and productive interactions through oral and poster presentations, and to provide opportunity for networking, social interaction and informal discussions. These meetings provide ample opportunity for learning, exchanging ideas and meeting researchers in the catalysis and catalytic reaction engineering field. The meeting is particularly beneficial for students, who are able to attend and participate in the largest, focused catalysis meeting organized within the United States. In addition to the scientific exchange, the large number of attendees from national laboratories and industry makes this a critical meeting for career advancement and professional development. To further enhance the experience of students and postdoctoral fellows, 26NAM is introducing a series of workshops on key aspects of catalysis science prior to the first day of technical content. A panel on best practices in catalysis is also being held. These events are specifically targeted at graduate student and postdoctoral training, and the sessions are being led by preeminent researchers who have given similar workshops at other meetings (e.g. ISCRE).
