Description
The purpose of this award funded by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) is to provide salary and benefit support for GI fellows pursuing an additional, full-year of training focused on patient care in advanced/transplant hepatology, beginning on July 1, 2014. The intent of the training program is to prepare the trainee to be eligible for certification in transplant hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Lisa VanWagner has been accepted as the advanced transplant hepatology fellow at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine starting July 1, 2014. She has primary mentorship support for this clinical award through Dr. Michael Abecassis, Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center with co-mentorship from Dr. Josh Levitsky, Program Director for the Transplant Hepatology fellowship. She has documented strong support for this award application by Dr. John Pandolfino, Division Chief, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Dr. Douglas Vaughan, Chair Department of Medicine, and Dr. Donald Lloyd-Jones, Chair, Department of Preventive Medicine and Director of NUCATS.
