Our research program is innovative because it integrates large genomic datasets for recurrent alterations that confer therapeutic resistance and validates these alterations as predictive diagnostics and therapeutic targets in laboratory and preclinical model systems. The methods are unique to our group in so far as we are the first to use the information-based similarity metric to the measure the mutual dependence between responses to DNA damaging agents and genetic features (12).
