Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

For the proposed study, I will assist with the development of the protocol for cold-activated BAT imaging with FDG-PET/CT, based on our experiences with a recently completed study investigating the effect of weight loss in obesity on BAT activity (as measured using PET/CT). This will include development of the “cooling room” protocol at Lurie Children’s, which we have successfully utilized at NMH. I will also supervise subject recruitment and phone screening. I will perform history and physical exams and will confirm eligibility prior to enrollment of subjects in the study. Finally, I will assist with the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of study data, including associations between BAT activity/volume and markers of cardiometabolic risk.
