Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Before medical school, I participated in research regarding interstitial lung disease and esophageal dilation in systemic sclerosis patients. In the current proposal, I seek to gain clinical experience in rheumatology by shadowing Dr. Hinchcliff, Co-Director of the Northwestern Scleroderma Program. I am particularly drawn to participating in clinical care at a large academic hospital because I intend to pursue an academic medicine career. One of the benefits of being under Dr. Hinchcliff's guidance is her willingness and aptitude for teaching and explaining complex concepts in understandable terms, allowing me to obtain a breadth of clinical and research experiences over the eight weeks.
