Medill Local News Initiative: Initiative to build sustainable models for local news organizations

Medill will launch a three-year initiative to help reinvent the local news paradigm in the U.S. and share best practices around the country with the industry, scholars and students. Northwestern will organize and lead top experts in journalism, audience analytics, the business of media and computer science to work directly with local news leaders. This project is intended to develop new and innovative ways to incubate tangible, sustainable business models for news organizations to survive and thrive in the digital era.
