Meeting the Needs of Early Childhood Systems to Integrate Evidence-Based Parenting Programs

Currently no survey of men’s perinatal health and wellbeing during the transition to fatherhood exists in the United States. Following our year of formative research and in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of University Centers on Disability (AUCD), the PRAMS for DADS, survey fills the data gap of experiences and health of fathers and influence on pregnancy and birth outcomes. Our team will interview and identify appropriate pilot states, selecting 1-2 states to pilot a survey of fathers in the perinatal period. Data will inform efforts to improve the health of men, women and children. Findings will be disseminated across the public health and medical fields as well as presented at national meetings.
