MICCoM Water Electrode Studies

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Katherine Harmon, a researcher at Northwestern University, shall perform research under the supervision of Prof. Michael Bedzyk (Northwestern Univ.) and Dr. Paul Fenter (Argonne National Lab). Ms. Harmon’s research will involve understanding water and ion organization at electrified solid-electrolyte interfaces. She will perform experiments, interpret their results, and prepare articles for publication in scientific journals. X-ray spectroscopy and scattering experimental work will be performed at the Advanced Photon Source. Supplies will be purchased and facilities used at Northwestern University to grow thin film electrode structures. Preliminary X-ray experimental work will be performed at the Northwestern University X-ray Diffraction Facility.
