She is biological anthropologist studying the gut microbiota in the broad context of host ecology and evolution. Professor Amato will attend group meetings at Texas Biomed throughout the project and provide input on experimental design and protocols for the microbiome work. She will analyze the microbiome data in Y4 and Y5, particularly the shotgun metagenomic data, and supervise the postdoctoral research associate.
