Project Details
Description
The Interfacial Processes group has an ongoing program to explore structure at mineral-water interfaces. A central aspect of this program is the development of new conceptual understandings and the testing theoretical models that describe the nature of interfacial structure and ion-substrate interactions, including the structure of interfacial water, and both specifically and non-specifically adsorbed ions (e.g., including “condensed” ion layers and “diffuse” ion profiles). This contract will support the effort of Prof. Michael Bedzyk in assistance to the Interfacial Processes group in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division at ANL.
