Modelling the Phenomenon of Asymmetric Loading of the Middle Column in the Erect Growing Thoracic and Lumber Spine Leading to the Induction or Initiation of Scoliosis

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The objective of this work is to describe from a simple biomechanical model the phenomenon of asymmetric loading of the middle column (based on Denis’s three column theory 1983) (see Figure 2) in the erect growing (human) thoracic and lumber spine which here is believed to be a cause of induction or initiation of scoliosis.
