Molecular Plasmonics: Single Molecule and Ultrafast Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The goal of this proposal is to capitalize on recent discoveries and instrumental developments made in two areas: (1) single molecule surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SMSERS) and (2) surface-enhanced femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (SE-FSRS). Two interlocking sets of new fundamental studies are proposed for 09/01/15 – 08/31/18: (1) SMSERS with applications to heterogeneous and photoinduced electron transfer dynamics and (2) understanding the mechanism of SE-FSRS.
