Description

The proposed study is a five-year project to conduct a study of social factors and how they affect inflammation. The subcontractor will provide analysis of dried blood spots (DBS) for IL6, CMV, and TNF/IL-8/IL-10. Professor Thomas McDade will be responsible for overseeing the analysis DBS samples, including management of project personnel in the lab, implementing procedures for quality analysis/quality control, delivering final results to the study team, and collaborating on data analysis and manuscript preparation. Sample analyses will occur at Northwestern University in the Laboratory for Human Biology Research, under McDade’s direction. Dr. Lauren Gaydosh from UNC-CH is the Principal Investigator of the study. Dr. Thomas McDade will serve as co-investigator on the project. Dr. McDade’s lab has the equipment to perform these analyses, and the lab has performed similar services as a subawardee on NIH awards.
