Multiplatform Variant Prediction (MVP) in Epilepsy

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The goal of this Center without walls is to improve our understanding of the consequences of variants in non-ion channel genes on protein function in patients with epilepsy. These studies will provide a platform for experimental and computational classification of variants of uncertain significance (VUS) that are currently a significant complication in clinical genetic testing. Moreover, we will investigate pathogenic mechanisms implicated in epilepsy beyond the ion-channels; these steps are crucial in the pursuit of novel therapeutic development and the promise of personalized medicine.
