NASCRE 4 - Making Boundaries Malleable: Advancing Reaction Engineering through New Materials, Unique Chemistries and Advanced Computation

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

We propose to organize the 4th North American Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (NASCRE 4) in Houston, TX, on March 10-13, 2019. This symposium aims to provide a focus on the frontiers of reaction engineering and an opportunity for international networking in the reaction engineering community in concert with the International Symposium for Chemical Reaction Engineering (ISCRE) meetings. NASCRE meetings are held every six years, spaced in three year intervals from the ISCRE meeting that is held in North America in rotation with Europe and Asia. Assembly of organizing and scientific committees with a broad range of skills in chemical reaction engineering will provide for a vibrant and diverse international symposium. Funding requested from the National Science Foundation of $30,000 will be utilized in concert with privately raised funds to support the travel of junior faculty, post-docs and graduate students to attend the symposium. It is anticipated that approximately 200 attendees will participate based on previous conferences held in the United States.
