NEAT:Nitrates Effect on Activity Tolerance in Heart Failure with Preserved Eject

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a medicine called isosorbide mononitrate (ISMN) improves the symptoms and the ability to tolerate activity in people with diastolic heart failure. ISMN has been shown to improve the symptoms of another type of heart failure called systolic heart failure. Since the disease process is different between diastolic heart failure and systolic heart failure, we do not yet know whether ISMN will help people with diastolic heart failure.
