Network of the National Library of Medicine Evaluation Center

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The NNLM Evaluation Center (NEC) will develop and enhance best-practice evaluation strategies and resources for the benefit of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM). The NEC will collaborate with NNLM and Regional Medical Libraries (RMLs) and Offices to develop standardized processes and robust integrated tools and data for evaluation of program activities. We will assess the efficacy and outcomes of NNLM activities, services, and resources, with a special focus on measuring its impact on persons who are underrepresented or experience health disparities. Community and capacity building is a priority focus through workforce and network development activities and resources for the National Library of Medicine (NLM), RMLs and network members. We will work with the NLM Office of Engagement and Training (OET) to align the work of the NEC with the NLM Strategic Plan and with newly emerging strategic priorities during the funding period. Through this opportunity, we will harness evaluation to promote NNLM’s mission “to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public's health by providing U.S. researchers, health professionals, public health workforce, educators, and the public with equal access to biomedical and health information resources and data.”
