Northwestern Prison Education Program COVID-19 Emergency Supplement

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The Northwestern Prison Education Program (NPEP) seeks emergency funds to continue its educational programming at Stateville Correctional Center and to successfully carry out its expansion to Logan Correctional Center. Visitation to Illinois prisons has been suspended due to COVID-19. Therefore, we wish to implement remote learning capabilities, including video conferencing, virtual office hours, printing and scanning, and online lecture series. Installing new technology will allow NPEP to continue to provide a comprehensive liberal arts education to incarcerated students despite the challenges posed by the current global health pandemic.
