Novel Reactive, Porous, and Processable Polymers for Chem-Bio Defense

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

By means of new materials chemistry capabilities developed by the team members, we propose to design, engineer, and construct porous and processable polymers that can react with organo-phosphate/phosphonate nerve agents, sulfur mustard blistering agents, and their simulants for potential use in protective gear. We will study the optimization of reactivity of these polymers in different forms such as films and fibers and will evaluate the bulk mechanical properties of the most promising materials.
