Off Campus costs for Collaborative Research: Integrated Computational and Experimental Studies of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Electrode Structural Evolution and Electrochemical Characteristics

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The proposed project objective is to combine three-dimensional (3D) measurements of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) electrode microstructure with 3D simulations of electrochemical performance and structural evolution, in order to provide an unprecedented understanding of the electrode structure-performance and structure-durability relations. The funding will enable continuation of two recently expired NSF funded projects, DMR-090703, under which the PIs developed experimental and simulation tools to examine SOFC electrodes and DMR- 0746424, under which 3D microstructural analysis tools have been developed.
