Northwestern University (NU) will collaborate the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) and BSCS on the design of the Professional Learning System (PL) for the OpenSciEd high school program as part of supporting the OpenSciEd teachers in the 2022-2023 field trials. 1. NU will assist the CU OpenSciEd development center and BSCS in developing a Professional Learning Scope and Sequence for OpenSciEd high school field trials to be implemented in 2022 through 2023. 2. NU will work with the Professional Development Lead at CU on the design the development of the whole group Professional Learning curriculum for Round 4 PL (designed and conducted Summer 2022) and Round 5 PL (designed fall 2022). 3. NU will develop unit-specific PL sessions for the Chemistry course for Round 4 (Summer 2022) and Round 5. NU will facilitate the unit-specific PL sessions for these rounds. 4. NU will collaborate with CU and BSCS Science Learning to review feedback from the OpenSciEd Data team at UT Dana Center on PL effectiveness to inform the design of subsequent rounds of PL.
