Description
Outreach goals for the new contract period are outlined below.
Promotion of the Young Scholars Program
1. Conduct primary outreach for the Young Scholars Program, including but not limited to mailings, emails, phone calls, webinars and other outreach activities.
2. Ensure that all scholarship information about the Young Scholars Program contained in outreach materials is updated and accurate.
3. Conduct outreach about the Young Scholars Program to target lower SES populations and identify potential applicants.
a. The outreach team at JKCF established a goal to increase underrepresented racial sub-groups in the Young Scholars Program applicant pool, which include but are not limited to: Native or indigenous Americans, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander and lower-income Asian Americans, and “U.S.-origin” or “native-born” Black Americans. Please include recruitment of students from one or multiple of these groups as part of your proposed strategy.
4. Consult with prospective Young Scholars Program applicants and their families about the program and application process through telephone calls, emails, and in-person visits (when applicable).
The Outreach Coordinator will have primary responsibility for implementing the action steps and achieving the objectives of the contract. The majority of the budget will be used to fund that position. The Outreach Coordinator will
• Conduct presentations (virtual or in person) and application workshops to educators and families and participate in conferences and educational fairs.
• Work with educators to help support students as they complete applications.
• Send regular emails or mailings to 7th grade CTD program participants and to 6th grade students to begin recruitment for the following year.
• Send emails and make phone calls to contacts working with high-ability, low-income youth.
• Conduct data mining to target for outreach.
• Create social media posts on CTD Facebook and Tw
