Description
In summary, improving patient information to assure optimal decisions regarding knee and hip OA treatment, including the use of total joint replacement surgery is a critical public health issue. Patient-‐reported, symptom-‐guided OA Careplans will prepare patients to actively engage in treatment decisions with their clinicians to best determine if non-‐operative care or TJR meets their goals. We propose to create the OA Careplan, a web-‐based system to support assessment of knee and hip OA pain and function to provide real-‐time, trended patient-‐reported OA severity and evidence-‐based treatment options with individual estimates of likely TJR benefits and risks.
