Prospective Observational Evaluation of the Association between the Day 2 Vancomycin Exposure and Failure Rates among Adult Hospitalized Patients with MRSA Bloodstream Infections (PROVIDE)

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Project Summary This study is a prospective, multi-center, observational study of adult patients with confirmed MRSA bloodstream infections treated with vancomycin. Adult patients (≥18 years) meeting the study criteria will be included. Patients will typically have daily vancomycin concentrations performed as part of standard of care; these plasma or serum concentrations will be recorded as part of the dataset. The primary objectives are to estimate the difference in failure rates among adult, hospitalized patients with MRSA bloodstream infections with AUCDAY2/MICBMD ratios ≥ 650 relative to those with AUCDAY2/MICBMD ratios < 650, and to estimate the difference in failure rates among adult, hospitalized patients with MRSA bloodstream infections with AUCDAY2/MICETEST ≥ 320 relative to those with AUCDAY2/MICETEST < 320.
