Description

The title of this project is QII - TAQS: Solid State Integration of Molecular Qubits, with Prof. Ezekiel
Johnston-Halperin (Ohio State) as the PI and Profs. Michael Flatte (Iowa), Danna Freedman
(Northwestern), and Jay Gupta (Ohio State) serving as co-PIs. As the title suggests, this is an
interdisciplinary effort aimed at bridging the gap between the superb quantum properties that can be
achieved with molecules in solution and the scalability, durability, and sophisticated measurement
schemes accessible with solid state structures devices. As a result, the scope of work touches on topics
relevant to chemistry, physics, materials science, and device engineering, requiring a diverse team with
broad expertise. In turn, this breadth promises that the impact of this work will extend well beyond the
specific goals of this research program, opening an entire class of quantum-functional materials to
exploitation for emerging applications in quantum information sciences (i.e. sensing, logic, memory, and
communication).
