Quantifying and Analyzing Color Deficiencies in Patients with Optic Neuropathies

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Optic neuropathy has many etiologies. People with this disease have reduced field of view, ability to see color, and light perception. We are most interested in the loss of color vision. Current tests to assess color vision loss are difficult to administer and grade. With the ColorDx assessment, we are able to provide an actual number score for a given color deficiency. We hope that by recording color loss and comparing that to the severity of a patient’s optic neuropathy, we can diagnose optic neuropathy earlier, predict how the disease may progress, and develop ways to treat specific color loss.
