Randomized Trial Comparing MRI-Targeted Transperineal vs. Transrectal Prostate Biopsy

Edward Schaeffer, MD, PhD will be the co-investigator and site lead for this project at Northwestern University. He will be responsible for recruitment of patients who are undergoing prostate biopsy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He will oversee the randomization of men to transperineal vs. transrectal biopsy. He will also supervise and train the study’s dedicated research coordinator. He will have shared responsibility in the study design, interpretation of data, and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications for future projects.
