Rapid Electropulsing‐Assisted Ultrasonic Dieless Incremental Forming with in‐situ Surface Treatment

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project is in cooperation with Northwestern University of the United States, which will study the dieless incremental sheet forming process mechanism of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy based on the Electropulsing-assisted Ultrasonic Double-Sided Incremental Forming (EPU-DSIF). The principle and evolution mechanism of mechanical properties and microstructure characteristics of Ti-6Al-4V will be studied. The expected deliverables include material characterization, analytical model, and the demonstration of a proof-of-concept physical EPU-DSIF system.
