ResIn: Responsible Innovation for Highly Recyclable Plastics

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Abstract: Responsible innovation in the development of plastics is relatively rare. In the current state-of-the-art (SOA), plastics are designed nearly exclusively for performance with little regard for recyclability or benignity at end of life (EOL). We propose to develop a responsible innovation approach (Fig 1) that marries a new computational-based approach with experiments to achieve high polymer recyclability and benign degradation products at EOL.
